The concept for the light projections Ofbirta was to capture the darkest time of the year, over Christmas and new Years, when Icelanders protest the lack of light by explicitly decorating their homes and gardens. While squinting your eyes in the snow and trodding through the city in the January darkness, you can witness fallen decorations around the town. The lights are a creative statement from an otherwise reserved nation, saved for the time when we need them the most.
